Phono & Instrument Cables
Our phono and instrument interconnects share construction with the same ultra-low capacitance, low-loss premium cable. The extremely low-level signals produced by turntable cartridges and passive electric guitar pickups are sensitive to conductor characteristics, and they can easily be "colored" by capacitance, which will attenuate the high frequency sounds. We believe that tone control should be done by knobs and settings, not by the cable - which should be as transparent to the signals as possible. Our cable is the most flexible of only a few products that measure under 17 pF/ft (56 pF/m) of capacitance, with double-shielded construction for the best electromagnetic noise rejection.

This ultra-low capacitance cable material (discussed above) is finished with locking WBT-style RCA connectors for the right and left turntable tonearm and phono pre-amplifier connections. The ground wire is 10 gauge OFC copper with #8 spade terminals for thumbscrew connections. All three cable/wires can be jacketed and left separate from each other, they can be 3-way braided (as shown) for cable management, or all three can be bundled in one common jacket with separate small jackets at each end for each individual cable connection, similar to bi-wire speaker cable assemblies. While some additional noise rejection may be provided by braiding, in this case, the right and left channels are fully (double) shielded, so the braiding is mostly for organization and to fit in with the Maze Audio Ref3 and Ref4 product families. We will build these to your tastes and specifications.

Many jacket styles and colors are available. The locking RCA plugs have gold-plated connections and accents. These cables have the best electrical characteristics possible, but are still very flexible for installation. The inherent sound qualities of your vinyl and cartridge will be transferred to your system with the highest fidelity. |
